Amazon COB Grow Light Review

If you’re starting to grow your own marijuana, you’re probably doing it to cut down on cost. We all know buying weed is so expensive! So I don’t want to spend a ton setting up my grow room. I really want to grow my own to save money. That’s why I’m on a mission to find the best of the cheap grow supplies, and this 1500W COB Grow Light from Amazon is a good one. I ’m so glad to be able to share this super good find with you! So let’s get to the details…

Specs:

  • 1500W COB led – Each of the five pieces on the panel replaces a 300W bulb, so you’re getting 1500W in total. One of the Amazon reviewers has an electricity meter and has measured this light pulling 280W from the wall

  • Full Spectrum 380-800nm

  • 12 x 8 x 2.25 inches or 30.5 x 20.3 x 5.7 cm

The Amazon seller recommends using one of these grow lights per 3x3 foot tent, but it can be used in a tent as large as a 5x5 foot. I have this light hanging in my 2x3 foot tent, and it’s perfect. I would not personally suggest using only one of these in a 5x5 foot tent. I’d add a second, or maybe even a third if you’ve got the extra money.

If you remember, I started my current cheap grow set up in my basement, and really struggled with temperatures. This plant spent its first week of life in a 64° climate before I moved her upstairs, so she really had a rough start. I considered just cutting her down and starting over but decided to give her a chance under this new light and as you can see, she’s just thriving.

If you get this light, you’ll also need to buy an adjustable grow light hanger. The hook that comes with the light isn’t large enough to hook to the top bar of my tent, and it’s too high up in the tent for a seedling. Using an adjustable hanger will give you a lot of flexibility and keep your light and the right height for the duration of your grow.

This is one of the best bang-for-your-buck lights on the market. You totally have my recommendation for it.

Do you have a holy grail cheap grow product? A DIY recipe? A technique you want to share? Let me know in the comments! I’m trying it all out and delivering you the best of what I find out there.
